Mason Greenwood is considering a return to Manchester United to save his parents' 'strained marriage.'

A report by the Sun reveals Greenwood is open to Manchester United's return against his previous decision to continue his career in LaLiga.

As per sources close to the player, Greenwood is actually annoyed with Manchester United on how his case was handled but is open to reconsidering his career decision to save his parents' marriage.

It is understood Mason Greenwood's parents have been under pressure since Greenwood's saga in 2022.

As of the time of filing this report, Greenwood's Dad, Andrew, who doubles as his agent is currently in Madrid, Spain with Greenwood while his mother Melanie is in England.

Andrew and Melanie have reportedly spent long months apart since Manchester United loaned Mason Greenwood to Getafe.

The long-distance is said to have 'strained their marriage' and an immediate remedy could be Mason Greenwood's return to Manchester United.

Due to Greenwood's career dynamics which has taken a toll on his parents' matrimonial life, the player is reportedly considering a return to Manchester United to save the situation.

As shared by the Sun, a close source narrating Greenwood's decision says;

"Mason has been very happy in Spain and knows a lot of top clubs including Barcelona are interested in him.
'He was annoyed with United about how they handled the situation following his charges, so has always been reluctant to return.

''But his mum and dad have spent long periods apart since Mason moved to Spain, and everyone knows long-distance relationships can be hard, especially given the pressures they have been under ever since Mason was first arrested in January 2022.

''It's been a very difficult two years for the Greenwood family.

''He thinks a lot of their problems could be solved if he went back to United. He's very close to his parents, so it's one of the reasons why a move back home could happen.''

Manchester United previously did not want Mason Greenwood back. The club were poised to sell the player when his loan tenure with Getafe expires.

But Manchester United new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe offered a reprieve to the player, reiterating his decision to reconsider Greenwood's future at the club.

Meanwhile, Greenwood was poised to ignore a return to Old Trafford but could now return to the club with the interest of his family at stake.
