“Jurgen Klopp kids” enveloped the headlines, after Liverpool beat Chelsea to win the 2023/24 Carabao Cup title.

The average age of the Reds during the Carabao Cup final was 22-year-old at full-time, with the team choked with several young players, who made a name for themselves on the day.

Conor Bradley, 20, began the game at the right back position, while Bobby Clark, 19, Jayden Danns, 18, James McConnell, 19, and Jarrell Quansah, 21, were introduced later on to provide more bite to Liverpool.

Anyway, this is some information about the Liverpool young stars, who arguably made a name for themselves during the 2024 Carabao Cup final.

Bobby Clark, 19 - Midfielder

Bobby Clark is the son of former Premier League winger Lee Clark, who played for Newcastle United, Sunderland, and Fulham in the 1990s and 2000s.

Clark joined Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2021 and previously trained with Birmingham City between 2012-14 when his dad was manager of the Blues.

The 19-year-old is a versatile attacking-minded player, who can play across the forward line and in the middle of the park.

Bobby Clark netted 13 goals with Liverpool Under-18s during his first season at the club.

Clark was handed his senior debut with the Merseyside-based club in a 9-0 victory over Bournemouth in August 2022.

The Englishman has subsequently featured regularly in Premier League wins against Chelsea, Luton, and Burnley, alongside coming off the bench during an EFL Cup semi-final victory over Fulham and an FA Cup 3rd round win over Arsenal.

Conor Bradley, 20 - Right back

Bradley has been the most discussed young player of Liverpool's 2023/24 campaign.

Conor Bradley was called up to deputize for Trent Alexander-Arnold when the English international sustained an injury In January 2024.

Bradley made his debut in a 4-0 victory for the Reds over Bournemouth in January 2024, with his first goal being netted in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Chelsea, when he was named man of the match.

Conor Bradley was absent from Premier League matches against Burnley and Arsenal after his father died.

He has made 12 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 1 goal and providing 5 assists in all competitions.

The 20-year-old was sublime against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final before he was substituted in the second period of the encounter.

Bradley is the first Northern Irishman to win a major trophy for Liverpool in 101 years - the last being Belfast-born goalkeeper Elisha Scott, who lifted two league titles in the early 1920s.

Jayden Danns, 18 - Forward

Danns is a man born in Liverpool, following the footsteps of Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.

Jayden Danns joined Liverpool's academy at the age of 8, and he made his debut for the club in a 4-1 win over Luton Town in February 2024.

The 18-year-old can also function in midfield and has grown quickly into the first team.

In the game against Luton Town, he helped set up a goal for Harvey Elliott one minute after he was introduced.

In the final on Sunday, February 24, 2024, Jayden Danns could have scored the definitive goal of the game, but he was denied by Petrovic in goal for Chelsea.

Danns is the son of former footballer, Neil Danns, and after Liverpool's smashing win over Luton Town, manager of the Hatters, Rob Edwards said to Jurgen Klopp: "I played with his dad!"

His breakthrough into the first team is coming following an impressive season with the under-18s, where he netted 10 goals during the 2022/23 campaign.

James McConnell, 19 - Midfielder

The 19-year-old joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2019, and after his debut for the under-18s as an under-16 player, McConnell went on to captain the under-21s this term.

James McConnell was amongst the senior squad for the games against Brentford, Toulouse, and Union Saint Gilloise before he got his first start in a 5-2 4th round FA Cup win for the Reds.

Filling in for Alexis Mac Allister, the youngster got an assist for Liverpool's opening goal in that game.

McConnell started as an attacking midfielder when he joined the Reds, but he has since adapted to the number 6 role.

In an interview with Liverpool in November 2023, James McConnell expressed that he has been “learning from players like Dominik Szoboszlai, the younger ones like Curtis and Harvey” who have offered him massive help and support.

Jarrell Quansah, 21 - Center-back

When he came on in the second half of extra time for Ibrahima Konate, many were stunned and felt it could backfire for the Reds.

However, it was all eggs thrown on their faces as Quansah was astute for the minutes he was on the pitch assisting Virgil Van Dijk.

Jarrell Quansah joined Liverpool's academy at the age of 8 and he captained the under-18s.

Following a loan stint with Bristol Rovers last campaign, the defender has become a regular feature for Liverpool this term.

In the unavailability of Joel Matip, he has made 20 appearances, including five in Liverpool's six English Football League Cup matches.

Speaking ahead of the final, he shared to the Red's website that his growth has been “crazy”, saying:

“I've just been told that a year ago on the day of the final, I'd just played against Oxford City away for Bristol Rovers in League One.”
