2007-born English football talent Trey Nyoni reached a milestone in his burgeoning career as he became the youngest Liverpool player to play in FA Cup for the Merseyside club.

Nyoni came on as a substitute in the second half, replacing Harvey Elliot, who played a crucial role as the Reds' kids ran riot against Southampton at Anfield in FA Cup 5th-round matchup.


It was a sterling outing for Liverpool's academy stars once again who made the most of their first-team appearance enough to put the Saints to the sword at Anfield.

Academy star Koumas capped his first-team debut for the Reds with a goal, opening the scoring for the home side to pave the way to victory.

Another academy star Danns made the headlines after he scored twice in the second half to seal a deserved 3-0 victory over the visitors.

Amidst the flurry of sensational performances by the youngsters, Trey Nyoni made history with his appearance for the Reds.

He was the youngest Liverpool player to play in FA Cup for the Reds at the age of 16 years, 243 days. Nyoni came on in the 73rd minute for Harvey Elliot when Liverpool were leading by two unreplied goals.

Who is Trey Nyoni?

Trey Nyoni is a homegrown Liverpool youngster playing as a midfielder for the Merseyside outfit. Nyoni, 16, started his football career at Leicester City academy.

He was scouted into Liverpool academy in 2023 and has been tipped as one of the promising midfield talents.

Nyoni is known for his balance and versatility. He can play with both feet and has an incredible knack for an attacking style of play.

The burgeoning talent was first called into Liverpool's first team in 2023. He is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool but has now registered his first-team appearance for the Reds in the FA Cup match against Southampton.

The 16-year-old is of Zimbabwean origin. He was born to Zimbabwean parents but is playing for England youth teams. He has made 7 appearances for England U16, scoring one goal, and has been called up for England U17.
