Men who are loyal to one woman are referred to as mumu in Nigeria, media personality Joro Olumofin says
Media personality Joro Olumofin has recently posted a piece of information regarding men's perception of cheating in their relationships. He said that Nigerian men perceive cheating as a thing of ego amongst themselves. To him, Nigerian men see cheating as a thing to boast about among their friends. The mentality that cheating makes them more of a man has begun since their secondary school days when boys with three girlfriends are considered manly while those with one girlfriend are ridiculed.
He said that men are hailed for having 4 girlfriends at the University and some classes award the men with the most girlfriends of the year. Things like this have made the average Nigerian man believe that cheating should be embraced. Also, anyone who has one girlfriend is seen as a "Mumu" among his fellow men. In his words, Joro wrote, "Cheating is a sign of success, stamina, and ego boost for Nigerian men. This behavior has been imprinted in his cognition throughout his childhood. When it's time to commit to 1 woman it becomes difficult. Men who are loyal to 1 woman are referred to as mumu in Nigeria."
Sense or nonsense?
