Recently, Meta's instant messaging network, WhatsApp has added screen-sharing, a new feature that will put the app amongst big video conferencing competitors apps such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, among others.
This development was made known by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, who confirmed this on Tuesday via a post on his Instagram account. He said that users now can exchange presentations or documents during live video sessions.
The function, which was originally made available to Android beta testers in late May, is accessed by touching or clicking the 'Share' button. Users can share either a single app or their full screen.
Screen sharing operates similarly to how it does on traditional video conferencing services like Google Meet and Zoom.
WhatsApp stated that the screen-sharing ability started rolling out on Android, iOS, and Windows Desktop one after the other. This implies that this feature may not be available at the moment, but it will surely take effect when each operating system reaches its turn.
