Arsenal breeze pass Crystal Palace with a 5-0 victory to relaunch themselves into the Premier League title race.

Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring for the Gunners 11 minutes into the game thanks to an assist by Declan Rice. Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson scored an own goal in the 37th minute to double the lead for the home side.

Leandro Trossard added to the score tally in the 59th minute to make it 3-0. Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli then ended his dragging goal drought in style, completing the rout with a quickfire brace in stoppage-time.

It was another superlative performance by the Gunners but a double injury blow to two of their key players nearly spoiled the party.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who scored the opening goal, was substituted in the second half due to an apparent injury. Also subbed off in the second half was Declan Rice.

While Magalhaes' injury was not obvious on the camera pan, Declan Rice was seen limping off the field after Arsenal went 3-0 up, sparking concerns of another possible injury crisis for Arsenal.

However, in a post-match briefing, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has disclosed the injury to the two players might not be serious.

"Declan was feeling something in his hamstring. So we didn't want to take any risks with the score at 3-0. Gabby was coming off a tackle I think on his knee and he was struggling a little bit. I hope it's nothing too serious," he said.

Arsenal have now move 2 points close to Liverpool at the top of the table with the win over Crystal Palace. It was a perfect way for the Gunners to bounce back from their back-to-back league defeats which nearly grounded their Premier League title challenge.

They will hope to continue on winning ways when they take on Nottingham Forest in their next league match on January 30.
