Mohamed Salah netted his 199th goal for Liverpool in their 4-0 smashing victory over Austrian side LASK.

Salah is edging closer to a double century of goals for the Reds, a feat that has only been achieved by a few individuals.

Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool from Italian club AS Roma on July 1, 2017, for a fee of €42 million.

He has been outstanding for the English club, leading them to several successes and scoring goals with reckless abandon.

The 31-year-old's goal against LASK came from the spot, slotting home a penalty in the 51st minute of proceedings.

Salah was instrumental to Liverpool, in ending their 3 decade wait for the Premier League title.

The former Chelsea forward has grown in leaps and bounds and has achieved excellent strides in his career, individually and collectively.

Mohamed Salah also led Jurgen Klopp's side to the UEFA Champions League title for the 2018/19 season.

Additionally, the Egyptian has also assisted Liverpool, in winning 1 FIFA Club World Cup, 1 FA Cup, 1 EFL Cup, and 1 UEFA Super Cup.

Just 2 players have reached the 200th goal mark for the Anfield club, and they are Roger Hunt and Ian Rush.

Rush scored 336 goals and provided 97 assists in 649 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool.

Hunt scored 261 goals and provided 28 assists in 446 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

There is a minor conversation being faintly said among the modern-day fans of Liverpool, and it is on who is a bigger legend and a greater player for the Reds between Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah.

There are those purists, who still believe that Gerrard is the greatest player of the Anfield side, and ultimately greater than Salah.

However, there are those, who stand on the prism that Mohamed Salah has done exceedingly well for Liverpool and achieved all that Steven Gerrard achieved and more.

Gerrard couldn't win the Premier League title during his senior career, which spanned from 1998 to 2015, while Salah led the Anfield club to the league crown for the 2019/20 season as aforementioned.

The Egypt international also assisted the Merseyside-based club in winning the UEFA Champions League in the 2018/19 season.

Both opinions regarding which player is greater is actually worth noting, as the pair indeed achieved monstrous heights at Liverpool.

It sometimes sounds like it is a battle between recency bias and nostalgia, as the duo will forever be remembered as legends for the club.

Steven Gerrard scored 186 goals and provided 157 assists in 710 appearances for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Liverpool return to action on Sunday, December 3, 2023, with a league encounter against Fulham at Anfield.

The Reds sit 3rd on the Premier League table, with 28 points from 13 matches played this season.
