Mohamed Salah was a hot transfer target for Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad in the last transfer window.
Al Ittihad tabled a whooping £170m offer to Liverpool for the highly-rated forward before increasing the offer to £200m but were turned down by Liverpool.
While the offer was a lucrative for Liverpool considering Salah's age, the Reds refused to part ways with the forward as he was considered key to Jurgen Klopp's squad.
Also, Al Ittihad's late swoop for Salah would have obviously inconvenienced Liverpool transfer plans. The club would have been at a loss to search for a replacement for the Egyptian forward as the European transfer window was winding down.
Hence, it was purely a logical outcome that the club will reject the offer no matter how lucrative it was.
With the January transfer window at the corner, there has been reports Al Ittihad will make another transfer swoop for the player with 18 months left on his contract.
However, Saudi Pro League chief and former Chelsea technical director, Michael Emenalo has revealed Saudi Arabia may not make another move for Mohamed Salah in January.
In a quote shared by the Sun, Michael Emenalo revealed Saudi Arabia have a lot of respect for Liverpool, and are pretty aware the Egyptian is happy at Liverpool hence they will not make a move for the player.
Emenalo however refused to rule out interest in Salah but added interests from all parties must align before a move could happen.
''Mo Salah, like [Lionel] Messi, [Karim] Benzema, [Cristiano] Ronaldo and the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, these are players that when there is a sense of availability for them, we are willing to listen.
"But we also understand that Mo is happy where he is at present and in a historic, wonderful club at Liverpool. We respect that very much and we don't want to come across as putting any pressure on him.
"But if there is any interest to do something, Mo Salah is a player that you want in your league, in any league.
"We respect Liverpool and in this scenario, the initiative to do anything won't come from us. There has to be an aligned interest from all parties involved.
Salah's Liverpool contract will expire at the end of next season. Sources close to the Merseyside club have revealed Liverpool want to keep Salah with a new contract offer in consideration but could be forced to part ways with the striker with a lucrative offer on the table.
Salah recorded his 200th goal for Liverpool in the 4-3 comeback win over Fulham in the Premier League.
