France International Wissam Ben Yedder is currently being investigated, following two allegations of rape, according to Nice's public prosecutor.
A public prosecutor in Nice, whose name is Xavier Bonhomme, confirmed “the existence of two allegations of rape, from two victims, targeting two people.
The complaints were lodged at a local police station that is located in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
But Bonhomme revealed he doesn't know who the second alleged victim is, he said: “We don’t know who the second person concerned is”
The incident allegedly happened on Monday, July 10, 2023 on the outskirts of Nice.
Based on a report from a radio station, France Info, two women, one 19 years old and the other 20 years old have accused Ben Yedder of “forcing them into sexual activities”, after a night out.
The victims also accused the Frenchman's brother of committing a similar offense after the night out.
Both women have attended a police grilling regarding the incident, but no action has been taken yet as the investigation is still in its early phases.
AS Monaco have also put out a statement declaring their awareness over the information.
They wrote: “Monaco became aware of the information published today involving Wissam Ben Yedder.
The French side however expressed that due to the nature of the affair and an ongoing judicial process, they aren't “in a position to make any comment”.
In April, 2023 Ben Yedder was also found guilty of tax fraud by a court in Spain while he was playing for Sevilla.
Yedder was slammed with a six-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of €133,798.
The striker joined AS Monaco on a five-year deal from Sevilla in 2019, for a reported fee of €40 million.
