More attacks and deaths in Plateau communities leads to imposition of curfew
Recent attacks on some Plateau communities have led to the imposition of a 24 hours curfew in Plateau State.
These attacks which occured recently led to the death of 12 people. The attacks happened in Farinkasa Kerana and Sabon Gari communities which are located in Mangu Local Government Area.
This incident happened yesterday night and some gunmen were behind the attack which claimed 12 lives.
The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the Mangu council. This is coming after the attack.
A resident who confirmed the incident revealed that these victims had been killed in their houses. They were killed on Saturday night.
Apart from the killings, the gunmen went ahead to set some houses on fire.
He also revealed that other than the lives which were lost, several others were injured in the attack.
They revealed that they haven't been able to reach the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau state.
They revealed that many residents have fled for their lives and deserted the community because of the attacks.
The governor had imposed this curfew so as to restore law and order. This was revealed in a statement that was released by the governor's Director of Press and Public Affairs who is Gyang Bere.
The statement revealed that all movements within the council have been banned until further notice. This is excluding security personnel and people who are on essential duties.
These security have been tasked with enforcing this curfew.
