"Most Nigerian artists don't want their kids to listen to their music" ID cabasa

Popular Nigerian record producer ID cabasa has revealed that most Nigerian artists don't want their children to listen to their own music. He shared this recently during during interview. He stated this after the incident of Cardi B not wanting her child to listen to her music was mentioned in the interview.

His real name is Olumide Ogunade, but he is popularly known as ID Cabasa. He is a Nigerian music producer and a singer. He is the founder of a record label known as Coded Tunes. ID cabasa is 48 years old. He was born in the 29th of July 1975 in Lagos.

He is of the opinion that most of the Nigerian artistes who are parents dont want their children listening to their songs mostly because they also know the kind of explicit things they say in their music. He also shared that he understands that many people are just trying to make ends meet but he also wanted to understand where balance comes in.

He was speaking in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast. Nedu had cited an example of Cardi B who was doing a live video on Instagram and when her daughter, Kulture walked in, she didn't want her child hearing her song so she put it off immediately. It was after this, Cabasa mentioned what Nigerian artist do.

In his words “Baba, I can tell you that most artists in Nigeria that you see, they don’t want their kids to actually listen to their own songs. And don’t blame them. I don’t like apportioning blames. A lot of us are doing this thing for survival. So, the question is how do you balance who you are with who they want you to be?”
