Multiple accidents in Ogun State leave 6 dead and 2 injured.
A multiple accident situation in Ogun State has led to 6 people dying and 2 injured.
These accidents took place in different parts of Ogun state on Friday and Saturday in March 2023.
Florence Okpe who is the public Education officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps for the Ogun State sector command confirmed this accident.
The first accident took place along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and this accident claimed the lives of 2 people while others just sustained injuries of various degrees.
Florence Okpe mentioned that the first accident was between a Volvo truck and a Nissan cabstar.
6 people were involved in this accident, 2 people out of the 6 died, 2 were injured and 2 weren't hurt.
She mentioned that this is as a result of violation of route and dangerous driving.
The second accident occurred in Abeokuta in Ogun State on Friday night. This accident involved 3 vehicles including a tanker, a Nissan SUV and a BMW car.
The driver of the tanker had lost control while trying to make a turn at a roundabout. This tanker was fully loaded with petrol. The driver was speeding and driving recklessly when he crashed into the other vehicles.
The petrol spilled but there was no outbreak of fire.
The fire service men quickly transferred the content into another truck.
4 people lost their lives in the second accident making a total of 6 people from both accidents.
