Nigerian international music star Ayo Balogun A.K.A Wizkid could have his 2020 album Made In Lagos nominated for a category at the Grammy Awards 2022.
The album features performances by British artists Skepta and Ella Mai, American R&B singer HER, Jamaican artists Projexx and Damian Marley and Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tay Iwar, Terri and Tems, the latter being featured on the international song “ Gasoline ”can be heard.
The US music and entertainment magazine Billboard recently issued a statement confirming the submission of Wizkids "Made in Lagos" album.
With this Wizkid's Made In Lagos, if selected, it will compete with other albums in the “Best Global Music Album” category.
In an article posted on their official website, the Billboard wrote: "Wizkids Made in Lagos is nominated for a nod in the recently renamed
Best Global Music Album” category.
Keep in mind that Made in Lagos "was released by Wizkid in 2020 and has been at the top of the charts for several weeks, with Essence with Tems being the most popular track on the album.
At the time of this writing, Made In Lagos is the only African album to top the charts for fifty weeks at a time.
