My property of N300 million has been demolished, man cries out
A Nigerian man has cried out over his recently demolished property in Lagos State. He said that the property was worth N300 million and he lives there with his family and some tenants. Unfortunately, the Federal Housing Authority has marked the house as one of those that will be demolished, claiming it was built in a swampy area.
With pain evident in his eyes, the stressed man called upon the Lagos State Government to come to his aid and other affected residents. He said that his kids had been admitted to the hospital due to shock.
Recall that the FHA has started demolishing buildings around Amuwo-Odofin at Festac town and residents have been left worried. They are to completely demolish a total of 677 houses and partially demolish 744 houses. They claimed that these buildings were erected on swampy lands which has been contributing to cases like floods in Lagos State. They have been marked as non-residential by the Lagos State Government but some dubious developers and land grabbers had gone ahead to sell the lands to the unsuspecting public.
