During an IG live interactive session with his fans, Afrobeats star Burnaboy stated the names of those who have had a significant impact in making him who he is today. He mentioned five people, namely Timaya, D Banj, 2 Face Idibia, Larry Gaga, and Wande Coal. To him, this set of people have personally invested in his career, and he will be forever grateful to them.
Yesterday, snippets of Burnaboy's live session flooded the news, and this was one of the questions he answered. Being one of the biggest 3 Afrobeats singers in Nigeria, it is shocking to see Burnaboy shout out to those who were there for him when he was still a struggling artist.
Meanwhile, some have started to misquote him by grouping other artists outside of those Burnaboy quoted as irrelevant. The singer has clarified the misunderstanding that other artists are not OGs. He said he mentioned those who he has had personal relationships with and who actively took part in making him progress. While concluding his speech, he urged his fans to invest in themselves so they become the source of information and knowledge. That way, staying relevant wouldn't be hassle in any industry they find themselves.
