NDLEA arrests wanted Drug Lord at Lagos airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a man who was a wanted Drug Lord in Lagos recently. They arrested him at the Airport in Lagos state recently. This man has been on their wanted list for some time now and he was finally caught while attempting to ship some illicit drug consignments to the United Kingdom.

The NDLEA has had a series of Operations and have seized a lot of consignment in the past week but this recent incident tops it as the person who was caught is someone who was a wanted man. It was the spokesperson of the Agency, Femi Babafemi, who revealed all these in a recent statement that was released. The statement was released on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Mr Babafemi revealed the suspect's name as Obiorah Chigozie. He disclosed that he had been on the NDLEA’s wanted list since September 15, 2023. He was caught when a consignment of 1.500kg skunk which was concealed in flour was going to be transported to London and it was intercepted. They intercepted this consignment at the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc export shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.

The NDLEA also arrested his agent who has been identified as Nworah Adaugo. The drug Lord had thought that the 1.500kg consignment had gone through so he brought another consignment of 2.00kg which had been concealed in cartons to the airport for shipment to the UK. This was how he walked into the trap.
After he was caught, he was interrogated and he claimed he was into show business in Lagos before he ventured into the illicit drugs
