NDLEA Intercepts consignment of Explosives and Meth
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have gotten hold of a consignment of explosives and meth recently.
This happened in Niger state and was suspected to be for a bandits camp in the state.
They were able to lay hold of a consignment of 32 pieces of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Mr Femi Babafemi, who is the spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, revealed this on Sunday. He said that this operation was part of the clampdown during raids of drug joints. They had raided some drug dens ahead of the inauguration which is to take place today.
He also said that the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the agency, who is Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), has ordered that the suspect they caught with these items be transferred.
The suspects has been identified as Musa Muhammadu and he was caught with the explosives last week Monday in Niger state.b
He also revealed some similar cases to this which happened recently.
He mentioned that the operatives of the agency had also caught Two ladies named Bilkisu Yusuf who is 33 years and Kauna Katsina who is 25 years old.
They were arrested last week too after they had caught them with 11,080 pills of Tramadol in Bauchi State.
They have also caught and arrested a man named Ozoemena Egbochue who has been wanted for some time. They arrested him I'm Bayelsa after they had arrested his sales boy, Morgan Eredeowei, who was caught with 11,748 pills of Tramadol and Diazepam.
The chairman of the agency, Marwa commended the efforts of the officers.
He urged them to continue in the worl even after a new administration will come into Nigeria today.
