Netizens have reacted heavily to the video of popular influencer and skitmaker Gloria Oloruntobi popularly known as Maraji where she addressed young ladies who dress half-unclad in public spaces.
In the video posted on her YouTube channel, the 26-year old influencer referred to indecent dressing as "trending nakedness". She said ladies who dress indecently either have low self-esteem or they do it due to peer pressure.
Maraji said girls of this generation are comfortable with exposing their bodies and flaunting on social media. She said when you go down the comment section, it's often filled with accolades like "Girl you slay". She added that the opposers of this particular trend are usually feasted upon with abusive words.
She mentioned a certain video she watched where a lady on TikTok posted a get ready with me video "Watch me get ready in my Ashawo cloth". She said if any other person called the lady in question an "ashawo", she would get angry and reject the claim. She said people face the fear of being cancelled and insulted so they pretend to be ignorant of the truth.
Maraji said she's not scared of cancel culture because she has been cancelled before. She stated that the only thing she stands for is modesty and decency. She believes a woman can be beautiful without exposing their body parts to the world.
She said, "Everything that's supposed to be private and personal is made public. The only thing I think of is, 'Is it peer pressure or a lack of self esteem?' For a girl to feel the need to open her body, walking outside like that…. These are strangers taking a good gander at your body."
