Newcastle United have completed the signing of Tino Livramento from Southampton for a fee of €37.2 million.
Livramento has signed a five-year deal with the Magpies, which will keep him at the club until June 2028.
Tino Livramento made 34 appearances for Southampton, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists across all competitions.
Confirming his arrival to Saint James' Park, Newcastle United put out a statement on their official website which reads:
“Newcastle United have completed the signing of England under-21 defender Valentino Livramento from Southampton.
“The 20-year-old full-back joins the Magpies for an undisclosed fee and has agreed a contract until summer 2028.”
Livramento becomes the Magpies' 4th signing this summer, having already signed Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, and Yankuba Minteh.
The former Chelsea defender has also revealed his delight at joining Newcastle United.
In his first interview at the English club, Tino Livramento said: “I’m really excited to have signed for Newcastle United and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans.”
The youngster also stated his eagerness to learn how to become a better full-back from teammate, Kieran Trippier.
He said: “To be able to learn from Kieran Trippier is another big thing for me; hopefully he teaches me how to become a better player and a better full-back.”
The 20-year-old has got immense potential, which if well developed could see him become one of the best defenders in the coming years.
He joined Southampton from Chelsea for a fee of €5.9 million and he has continued to burgeon impressively.
Tino Livramento was named Chelsea academy player of the year for the 2020/21 season and he was among the substitutes for the Blues against Manchester City and Arsenal.
The defender would be battling for a starting shirt at right-back alongside top names like; Kieran Trippier, Javier Manquillo, and Emil Krafth.
