Neymar Jr. seems to have mocked Paris Saint Germain forward Ousmane Dembele after an underwhelming campaign at the club following his move from Barcelona.

What happened?

The Al Hilal forward, Neymar appears to have mocked the France winger's record at PSG this season in a post on social media.

On Instagram, an account posted the fact that the Brazilian, who left PSG last summer to join Al-Hilal, has scored more goals for the Ligue 1 side this season (2).

The Brazilian liked and replied with a laughing emoji to the post that compared the two forwards' goalscoring records for PSG this season.

Dembele has managed one goal since his move from Barcelona, while Neymar scored twice in a 4-0 win over Nantes in the French Super Cup before sealing a switch to the Middle East.

Ousmane Dembele’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain last summer caused a lot of shockwaves, but so far, it has not been an unduly successful period in the French capital for the 26-year-old forward.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been impressive with his overall performance, and he has managed to stay injury-free, something that seemed impossible during his stint in Barcelona.

However, his main problem has been contributing to goals, and especially scoring them. In 28 matches across all competitions, he has found the back of the net on just one occasion.

Dembele joined PSG after the Ligue 1 club activated his 50 million euro release clause.

The Frenchman has been a regular for PSG but his run of one goal and seven assists from 20 Ligue 1 outings is rather underwhelming.

On the other hand, Neymar scored 118 goals in 173 appearances for the Ligue 1 powerhouse before moving to the Saudi Pro League in the summer.

Yet it hasn't been a great season for the Brazilian either. Neymar has been ruled out since October with an ACL injury and is not expected to return to the field until next season.

Meanwhile, Dembele's only PSG goal so far this season came on his 16th appearance in all competitions for the Ligue 1 champions. He is currently on a 12-match run without a goal for Luis Enrique's side.

What's next for Ousmane Dembele?

The former Borussia Dortmund forward has the opportunity for redemption as PSG prepare to lock horns with Monaco in Ligue 1. With Dembele scoring in their last encounter in November 2023, his hopes are high for a return to form.
