Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been awarded the 2022 Laureate Prize Of Ambassadors Of La Francophonie.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a well known Nigerian economist, and she has been serving as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization for some years.
She is also the first woman and the first African to lead in this role. She has been serving since March 2021.
The Francophonie makes reference to men and women who share a common language which is French.
According to them, they have an estimate of over 321 million French speakers and this cuts across five continents in the world.
This institution is also dedicated to promoting the French language and political, educational, economic and cultural cooperation. This is among the member countries of the Organisation internationale of la Francophonie (OIF)

The member countries are 88. The institution of La Francophonie has been dedicated to doing these since the year 1970.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala announced the receipt of this award on her Twitter handle.
She mentioned that it is a great honor to be awarded the 2022 laureate prize of Ambassadors of La Francophonie and she tagged them.
