At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), a total of 423.6 million shares were traded in 11,393 deals, with a market turnover of ₦9.18 billion. The current market capitalization stands at ₦66.1 trillion.

Compared to the previous trading day (March 26, 2025), today’s trading volume declined by 67%, market turnover fell by 27%, but the number of deals increased by 4%, indicating a shift in trading patterns.

Top Gainers – Stocks That Performed Best Today

The stock with the highest price appreciation today was The Initiates Plc (TIP), which gained 9.85%, closing at ₦4.46 per share. Other top gainers include Mutual Benefits Assurance (MBENEFIT) and Universal Insurance (UNIVINSURE), both rising by 9.09%. Royal Exchange (ROYALEX) also had a strong performance, gaining 8.99%.

Top Losers – Stocks That Declined the Most

On the losing side, John Holt Plc (JOHNHOLT) had the worst performance, dropping 10% to close at ₦7.74 per share. Chams Plc (CHAMS) fell by 8.52%, while Secure Electronic Technology (NSLTECH) declined by 8.47%. May & Baker Nigeria (MAYBAKER) also recorded a loss of 7.95%.
