NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR FRIDAY, MAY 24, 2024

At the close of trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) on Friday, May 24, 2024, a total of 769,094,477 shares were traded in 7,585 deals, with a market value of NGN 15,742,733,756.41. Compared to the previous trading day, this represents a 143% increase in volume, a 104% increase in turnover, but a 3% decline in the number of deals. The NGX's current market capitalization is NGN 55.2 trillion.

Out of 123 equities that participated in the trading, there were 16 gainers and 20 losers. International Energy Insurance led the gainers with a 9.93% increase to NGN 1.55 per share, followed by Cutix (+9.84%), Jaiz Bank (+8%), and Sovereign Trust Insurance (+7.69%). PZ Cussons Nigeria was the biggest loser with a 10% decline to NGN 19.80 per share, followed by Ecobank Transnational (-9.98%), FBN Holdings (-9.31%), and Consolidated Hallmark Holdings (-8.7%). Ecobank Transnational had the highest volume of traded shares at 555 million, followed by United Bank for Africa (38.9 million), Zenith Bank (24.5 million), and FBN Holdings (20.5 million).
