Nigerian Air Force helicopter crashes in Niger State

A Nigerian Air Force helicopter crashed in Niger State just recently. The incident occured yesterday, Monday, August 14, 2023.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has also confirmed this incident. They shared that one of their aircraft crashed in Niger State.

They revealed that this aircraft was on a casualty evacuation mission when they crashed

It was the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, who is Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet has released a statement to confirm this incident. The statement was released on Monday.

He shared that the aircraft had departed from Zungeru Primary School and was en route to Kaduna. They later discovered that the aircraft crashed in a village located in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

He said “A Nigerian Air Force MI-171 helicopter on a casualty evacuation mission crashed today, August 14, 2023, at about 1pm at Chukuba Village in Niger State"

He also revealed that rescue efforts are ongoing. He shared that an investigation has commenced to determine the cause of this plane crash.
