A Nigerian chef, Adeyeye Adeola also known as Chef Deo from Ondo State has started a 150-hour cooking marathon to beat the Guiness World Record for longest cooking time of 93 hours 11 minutes set by Chef Hilda Baci.
The cookathon started yesterday 30th June in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State and it will conclude on Thursday, July 6, 2023. She will be cooking for an estimate of 6 days and 6 hours.
This is the third attempt by a Nigerian to break the GWR for the longest cooking marathon in a span of two months.
The first Nigerian who attempted to break the record was Hilda Baci. She cooked her way to history by breaking the record of Lata Tondon of India who cooked for 87 hours, 45 seconds and setting another one for 93 hours and 11 minutes, making her a Guiness World Record Holder.
The second Nigerian was Adeparusi Damilola who attempted to break Hilda Baci's record and cook for a span of 120 hours but it was unsuccessful because she failed to register the exercise with GWR.
Chef Deo is the third Nigerian attempting break the record and she has cooked for a total of 14 hours.
