A Nigerian man has been arrested in Thailand for scamming women over false excuses of marriage.

The police made the arrest of this scammer in Pattaya in Thailand on Thursday, March 16 2023.

The man has been identified as Ndubuisi and he is 34 years old.

The police have mentioned that the charges against him are defrauding several Thai women.

The head of the arrest team, Pol. Lt. Col. Prin Sripattarakulchai mentioned that this man disguised himself as a different person using the Facebook platform and scammed those Thai women.

He told lies to these women saying he would send expensive engagement gifts to them.

His friend who was in on the fraud pretended to be a customs officer and he would contact the victims and tell them to pay a duty tax fee to receive these gifts.
As soon as these women send them the money, this guy would disappear.

Other promises he made to those women were that he would relocate to Thailand to marry them, but he never did.

According to the police, he had caused damages of over 300,000 baht.

Many women fell for this trick and then filed reports to the police. The police began investigating into this and searched for this man before learning he had run away to Pattaya.

The arrest warrant was issued by Samut Prakan Provincial Court for violating the law.

This violation was for 4 counts including; defrauding the public by impersonating another person, entering false information into the computer system, criminal enrichment and money laundering.

Once his location was confirmed, the law enforcement officers located him and made the arrest. They then transferred him to the Bang Sao Thong Police Station in Samut Prakan province. This was where his arrest warrant was issued.

The police are also working on locating his accomplice. The man who disguised himself as a customs officer.
