A Nigerian immigrant, Yemi Mobolade was sworn in on Tuesday as the new Mayor of Colorado, USA, making him the first black Mayor of that state.
During his swearing in ceremony, the governor of Colorado, Mr Polis said Mobolade is someone who has dedicated his life to making Colorado Springs & America a better place. He is one whose story we can all identify with.
“I am a Black leader. I am a Black mayor. I am an immigrant mayor." Mobolade said while giving his speech at his swearing-in ceremony.
Mobolade has made history and has made Nigerians home and in the diaspora proud for this great feat.
