Nigerian man dies 24 hours after arriving in the UK for his postgraduate studies​


One Mr. Saheeb Wahab reportedly passed away 24 hours after he arrived in the United Kingdom for his postgraduate studies. He enrolled in a Master's program but died on Tuesday, the 16th of January in Teesside. The cause of his death wasn't disclosed but the news took many by surprise. The community of Nigerians in the UK shared this sad news on their official X page and stated that the deceased family had been informed about their loss.

Also, the family of the deceased has granted permission for him to be buried in the United Kingdom by the association of Nigerians in the UK. His remains will be retrieved from the coroner and be given a befitting burial. Able Nigerians have been implored to donate money to assist in the burial of the deceased, however, his picture wasn't shared in the post.

The announcement reads, "Following the sad news we received regarding the death of Mr Saheed Wahab, a student at Teesside University who died a day after arriving in the United Kingdom from Nigeria. He was here to start a MSc qualification, but unfortunately he died on Tuesday (16th January) afternoon in Teesside. May Almighty Allah forgive his sins and accept his return."

"We have reached out to his wife and family members in Nigeria, and they’ve given us permission to act on their behalf and arrange a funeral services for him here in the United Kingdom. We’ve also been able to contact the coroner where his remains is.In view of the above, we’re soliciting for financial support towards his burial, please kindly donate generously to the account given below, may the Almighty accept it as an act of ibadah and grant us the rewards. Ameen."
