A Nigerian man has set another Guinness World Record for the most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on his head. This young man has been identified as Tonye Solomon.
He is from Yenagoa in Bayelsa State. He embarked on this on the 10th of August 2023 and broke the record with 150 steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on his head.

The Guinness World Record revealed that Tonye had made the attempt in order to challenge himself and he had also trained for 2 months to ensure he was confident enough to make it.
They stated “Tonye attempted this record to challenge himself and to inspire others to do great things. He spent two months training for the attempt until he was confident he could achieve the record,” the global body stated on its website.

He was also congratulated by many after his win including the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, who is Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
Tonye isn't the first Nigerian to hold a Guinness World Record but is definitely among the few who are now record holders from Nigeria.
Recall the GWR began to receive lots of applications after popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci compiled her Cook-a-thon back in May.

The young man however shared his thoughts saying that his record was celebrated as that of Hilda abaci during her cook-a-thon. He had shared that he didn't feel recognised and was wondering if it was only women who were recognised that way and celebrated.
