Mr Macaroni, a comedian, has chastised presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar for deleting Facebook and Twitter posts criticizing the assassination of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto.

A mob in Sokoto State burned Deborah alive for allegedly disrespecting Prophet Mohammed.

Shortly after some zealots threatened Atiku's presidential bid in 2023, he erased his posts.

In a tweet, Mr Macaroni added that Atiku's actions demonstrate that politicians do not care about the people and only play to the gallery to win votes.

"Atiku deleting the tweet condemning Deborah's terrible murder reflects what we have been preaching this entire election season," he wrote.

"Politicians are unconcerned about the public. When they want our votes, they only play to the crowd. People must be able to see past these ruses.
