Do you remember last year's #EndSARS protest? I bet you do. Who will forget such a memorable incident in a hurry?.

The report has it that the BOP DADDY singer has called on Nigerians to take part in the #EndSARS Memorial car procession.

He said the procession would take place in honor of the dead at the Lekki toll gate exactly a year ago.

The police have repeatedly warned against gatherings of any kind on behalf of #EndSARS

But the rapper said the procession planned for Wednesday commemorates those who lost their lives during the #EndSARS protest in 2020.

Falz said it was impossible "not to memorize our fallen heroes".

“We will never forget that innocent Nigerian citizens waved flags and sang until they were shot, injured, and killed.

"We must never forget that tomorrow we will be driving cars to pass the toll. We know their way, so a motorcade is the safest option to minimize police harassment," wrote the rapper, who is also the son of a human rights attorney and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana.

He also assured those who will be attending their safety, saying there are free vehicles on the ground.

“We stay in our vehicles all the time. We have rides for people who need them. Everyone's safety is very important, so please let us move forward together.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Kwara State Command warned of the planned #ENDSARS memorial protest.

The police command has warned the organizers that it will not tolerate any form of disturbance of public order in the state in relation to the events of last year.

This was included in the statement by State Police public relations officer SP Ajayi Okasanmi, who quoted CP Amienbo Assayomo as saying:

“At the moment, given the security situation and the recent activities of the cultism, the situation in the state is not conducive for such procession.

“That only increased the tension in the minds of some of the citizens. It can therefore not be reasonable to allow a protest.

"The terrible incidents of the Endsars protest 2020, in which the lives of people and valuable government property were viciously destroyed, are still fresh in our memories," the statement said.
