Nigerian Troops lay ambush and neutralize Boko Haram terrorists.
Men of the Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have been able to neutralize some Boko Haram terrorists.
These troops successfully laid an ambush which helped them to carry out their operations against these Boko Haram terrorists. This was at Kuka in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
It was the Director of the Army Public Relations, who is Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, who revealed this in a statement in Abuja yesterday, Thursday, August 10.
He revealed that the troops had laid an ambush and were waiting for these terrorists and opened fire on them. They had engaged the terrorists in a serious gun fight. During the fight, they were able to kill 2 terrorists while the others were able to escape.
They were able to recover some weapons like 63 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 1 Improvised Explosive Device(IED) shell, 5 Pento injections and N19,460.
In a similar case which occurred after this particular operation, a notorious Boko Haram terrorist also surrendered the troops. This was at Konduga Local Government Area of the state. This terrorist surrendered to the troops of 222 Battalion at Geizuwa.
After his surrender, they were able to recover weapons like 1 AK47 rifle, 1 magazine and 26 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
They have taken the suspect for profiling so as to determine the next step.
Lt.-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja who is the Chief of Army Staff, has commended the troops the troops’ for their effort and success in the operation.
He also encouraged encouraged to keep up the good work until they successfully eliminate all bandits in the state.
