The statement revealed that the VC of the prestigious institution, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola says that there would be an increment in the school fees for undergraduate students in UNILAG.

SSANU revealed that the VC, met with representatives of the three non-academic staff unions and this was on Thursday, 20th of July 20th. They met to discuss issues concerning the welfare of their members’. It was during the course of the meeting that these new fees were brought up. Students who previously paid N19,000 will now be paying over 100,000.

They revealed the new prices which are:
  1. Students studying medicine are to pay N190,250.
  2. Students studying courses that make use of laboratory and studio, will pay N140,250.
  3. Students that do not need lab or studio will pay N100,750.

A representative from SSANU who was present at the meeting asked about discounts for staff members whose children attend the university but the VC said these fees have been set nationally and they won't be able to make special changes for a set of students.

The VC however gave the option for staff to pay in installments but must pay up one month before the final exams.
