Nigerians rejoice as Chef Tope Maggie breaks Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time in a 200 hour marathon
Many Nigerians have begun to rejoice after a Nigerian chef from Oyo state reclaimed the title Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon Record recently. Chef Tope Maggie recently broke the Record by cooking for 200 hours.
His full name is Temitope Adebayo, but he is popularly known as Tope Maggie. He is a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Efe, Osun State. He graduated with a degree in Hotel Management. He learnt how to cook from his mother and then got the name “Maggie”. He manages a chain restaurants in Ogbomoso.
Tope maggie has surpassed the Irish chef, Alan Fisher who recently broke the Record with his 119-hour and 57 minute marathon. Recall Alan Fisher set his own Record just a few weeks ago and beat the Record Hilda Baci from Nigeria set. The title has now been returned back to a Nigerian.
The attempt has however not being confirmed by the Guinness world record but he has completed his 200 hour marathon. The news was shared by Oyo Affairs on Twitter recently. He completed his 200 hours marathon in the early hours of Saturday, which was the 18th of November 2023.
He began the marathon on Thursday evening, the 9th of November, and finished on Saturday morning around 3am, November 18th. The event was held at Ogbomoso Recreation Club, which is opposite LAUTECH College of Health Sciences, in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
