The Nigerian Labour Congress has stated its proposed two-day warning strike which will commence on September 5 due to the lingering crisis of the removal of fuel subsidy which the government have failed to address.

The NLC President, Joe Ajaero said this on Friday at the press conference at the Labour House in Abuja after speaking with the NLC National Executive Committee (NEC).

In the meeting, he told the press that the Federal Government has failed to implement measures talked about at the last meeting the union had with the Federal Government.

The last protest was held on August 2 after which the union was called to the negotiation table thereby ending the strike. But since that meeting till this day, the government has been silent about anything that has to do with issues raised from the last meeting.

The protest was a collaboration of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) alongside their associates from different states such as Plateau, Abia, Lagos, Kaduna, Rivers, Kano, Zamfara, Katsina, Cross River, Enugu, Ebonyi, Kwara, Imo, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, and the FCT.
