The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has decided to sack its top management staff who have less than 15 months to retire from the company.

This development came days after the company announced that it was going to replace three of its Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs).

Those affected are Abdulkabir who was in charge of gas, power, and new energies; Adokiye Tombomieye, who was in charge of the upstream segment; and Adeyemi Adetunji, who was in charge of the downstream.

The past executives were replaced by Olalekan Ogunleye as EVP gas, power, and new energies; Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan for the company’s upstream operations, while Adedapo Segun is in charge of the downstream.

The NNPC stated on Tuesday that the change was in line to boost its workforce.
