President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that no ransom will be paid for the release of the school children kidnapped in Kuriga, Kaduna State.

A group of unknown gunmen invaded LEA primary school and Government Secondary School in the Kuriga area of Chikun LGA in Kaduna State, abducting 280 students and teachers on Thursday, 7th March 2024.

During the Federal Executive Council meeting yesterday, Pres. Tinubu declared that his administration is dedicated to ending kidnapping, banditry, and other unlawful activities in the country. He made it clear that the students should be rescued and brought home safely without paying a dime to the kidnappers.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, also disclosed that the FG is seeking assistance from international organizations to rescue the victims.
