Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has reacted to the story of the student who killed his girlfriend for rituals advising young people to slow down on their quest for material things.
In a video, Yul Edochie said he was heartbroken about the death of the girl since it went viral on social media. He said the university age is the early 20s and these years are meant for personal development. He said it isn't meant for chasing materialistic things like cars or iPhones. Yul said all these things including humans are ephemeral.
He said, "What you should be thinking about at that age is to study. Make good grades and learn whatever you went to school to learn. Come out and start your hustle. What is money? Money is just paper. Everybody is going to die someday."
Yul Edochie said a person from the ages of 16-23 shouldn't be thinking about killing his girlfriend for money because they know nothing about life. He urged the youths to slow down because material things are going to fade away.
He mentioned the story of a dispatch rider who got killed because he delivered an iPhone 6 to someone. He said an iPhone 6 has no value in today's society and in a couple of years, everything people are killing themselves for won't matter anymore.
Yul said, "Don't let the quest for money drive you to become a demon. Money is paper. These things are material things that will fade away. Everybody on earth is going to die, rich or poor. Don't let anybody put you under pressure. If you don't have it, relax."
