Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh reveals why she joined APC
Popular Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed the reason why she joined the political party, APC which is the All Progressives Congress. Tonto Dikeh recently joined APC which is the ruling Political party in Nigeria. She defected from the African Democratic Congress, (ADC).
She recently became a member of the APC and she was officially welcomed into the party by Dr Mary Alile who is the National Women Leader. This occurred at the All Progressives Congress national secretariat on Monday, October 23.
Tonto Dikeh is a Famous Nigerian actress and singer. She is the founder of the "The Tonto Dikeh Foundation" which was established on the 27th of August 2000. She is 38 years old. She was born on the 9th of June 1985. She was married to Olakunle Churchill from 2015 to 2017. She has a son.
She recently shared photos of her welcome into APC in Abuja on her Instagram account. She then revealed in the caption what her reason was for defecting to APC. Recall she contested for a political position in 2023. She was the running mate of the governorship candidate of ADC in Rivers State earlier this year.
She shared in her Instagram post that she believes in the administration of the current president of Nigeria, President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In her words "Facts accompanied with evidence usually bring arguments to an end, which propel drastic decisions and changes for the common good. Having been presented with these facts, goals and vision of the current renewed hope agenda, I have decided to put emotions aside and continue to work for the greater good of the Nigerian youth, women and the country at large as I have always done through the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) platform in partnership with the Federal Government. I have learnt over the years that impactful leadership comes from visionary leaders offering selfless service to humanity, i am all about the progress of my country, Nigeria, and the youths of this great nation at large. This is not a win for me alone but a win for our dreams, hopes and struggles to ensure we make our unborn generation proud with good legacies. I am headstrong for you Nigerians, and in due time, you will surely feel the positive impacts of my decision as it will be evident through us all.
As a patriotic Nigerian, progressive youth and an advocate of girl-child, I want to reiterate that I believe in the prosperity of Nigeria under the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA OF President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR."
