The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un has warned that he won’t hesitate to launch nukes if he is provoked to do so. He recently revealed that he will launch a nuclear attack on any enemy country who provokes him. He disclosed this during a state run media on Thursday, December 2023. This was during his meeting with the soldiers of the second red flag company as they participated in the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Monday.

He disclosed that the launch of the ICBM was a successful one and this should send a clear message and serve as a warning that the country has a good nuclear strategy which will be launched without hesitation if any country provokes them. Recall North Korean has conducted about 5 ICBM launches in 2023. This recent one is the 5th. Kim Jong-un also praised the troops involved in the launch test of ICBM. These threats about launching missiles begun after North Korea adopted the escalatory nuclear doctrine last year. This doctrine is a law that stipulates a broad range of situations in which it can use nuclear weapons.

Ever since then, they have been threatening to make use of these nuclear weapons. They test-fired about 100 missiles last year and the targets were majorly South Korea and the US. Recall the US has also warned North Korea regarding these missiles some time ago however, some foreign experts who have weighed in on the matter have disclosed that North Korean is unlikely to actually fire these missiles.
