NSCDC uncovers illegal refinery in Rivers
Operatives of The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Rivers State have discovered an illegal refinery in Rivers State. The discovery of this illegal refinery was at the Otamiri-Etche in the Etche Local Government Area of Rivers state.
This information was released by the NSCDC Commandant of the Rivers total command who is Michael Ogar.
He said that thus us the first time he would witness such a well constructed illegal refinery. He also stated that this refinery had a wide range of pipes laid across that area in river state.
He also mentioned how they were able to discover this illegal operation which was through the intelligence of the operatives of the NSCDC.
They discovered that thes criminals involved were siphoning crude oil through these well ladi pipes at the refinery. They had tapped into Heirs Holding Oil and Gas facility through their pipeline.
The NSCDC believes that there is more to uncover regarding this and proper investigation needs to be done.
The believe someone had given the people involved in this illegal activity the large land they were using to siphon crude Oil.
Mr Ogar also said that they will go after the people involved so as to ensure that these illegal operations in petroleum reduce as their mandate in the NSCDC is to safeguard national assets.
He also clearly warned everyone who involve themselves in such to dissociate from this as they would eventually be caught and face the law.
