The Ogun State Government has shut down Solar Energy Ventures Industry Enterprise, a company located in Sango Otta over a breach of environmental rules.

This information was relayed to the public by Mr. Farouk Akintunde, who doubles as the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Environment and Chairman of the Special Task Force Committee on Environment. He said that the Ogun State government has been friendly with companies situated in the state. However, there is an extent to which it would condone companies negating the rules of the environment when conducting their daily operations.

On two different occasions, the solar energy company has been found guilty of neglecting the rules that were set by the ministry. He added that the company was given an action plan which they refused to abide by.

Akintunde further stated that the officials were first denied entry into be company's facility for inspection after they received several complaints regarding pollution by the residents in the community.

This could potentially harm the health of the residents in that area and corrective measures must be taken to ensure that doesn't occur.
