Nigerian veteran actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde celebrates silver jubilee wedding anniversary with Captain Matthew Ekehinde.
Her union with the captain is blessed with four wonderful children, whom she got married to at the early age of eighteen and gave birth to her first child just a year after their union.
The two met in church, when Captain Ekehinde’s sister introduced them. Immediately, there was love at first sight for Captain, regardless of the age difference, as he was twenty-six and she was sixteen years, they grew to become family friends. After two years of friendship and courtship, they finally got married in 1996, before she went to school. Their wedding was hosted in mid air, on a plane, where they had just the priest and family members on board.
Omotola has appeared in over 300 movies and was honoured as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, by Time magazine. Omotola was also honored as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the Nigerian government, for her contribution to Nigerian movie industry.
Their wedding anniversary which coincides with Captain Ekehinde’s birthday as he also celebrates his 53rd birthday. The power couple are role models to many young Nigerians. We want to wish them many more years together.
