Nigerian social media Influencer Reno Omokri took to his X page to give a breakdown of why people living in Nigeria are happier than those living abroad. He agreed that the Nigerian economy had grown worse and made a lot of people consider relocating, however, those struggling in Nigeria are more happier than those earning robust incomes abroad. He added that those who japa from Nigeria are likely to be more prosperous than those living in Nigeria, but prosperity doesn't equal happiness.

He said that life in Nigeria is challenging, yet active, but life abroad is very depressing because people are too busy with work. This leaves them little to no time to socialize and inability to socialize breeds depression. Reno added that people do not visit one another abroad in fact, those living there have no time for themselves.

He also said that anyone could die in his or her apartment for days and no one would be aware because everyone is too busy focusing on trying to earn a living. He added that life can be depressing in places like America and Europe because God created man to be social and not to seek wealth alone. Being wealthy without being surrounded by people will easily lead to one developing mental health issues.
