Once again, NDLEA denied raiding Mohbad's apartment in February 2022
Again, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has denied raiding Mohbad's apartment on the 24th of February, 2022.
Recall that when the late Nigerian singer Mohbad died, a video of him lying on a hospital bed made its way to the internet. In that video, the late singer stated amidst the pain that the NDLEA burst into his Lekki apartment. He also stated that he was forced to drink a white substance by the NDLEA officials. He wasn't okay since he drank the substance and was rushed to the hospital for proper treatment.
When the information surfaced online, concerned people who were hell-bent on seeking justice for Mohbad called out the NDLEA. To many's surprise, the NDLEA denied raiding or arresting Mohbad in February. The agency has been dragged countlessly on social media, yet, they stood on their claims.
Today, the 7th of October, NDLEA dropped another statement. The agency stated that it has responded to the Nigerian Police over the fake news spreading in the media. The statement further reiterated that the agency neither arrested nor detained Mohbad on the 24th of February, 2022. Therefore, news about Mohbad being coerced to drink a substance at the NDLEA custody remains false.
