Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, sympathizes with Ibadan residents over recent explosion
The governor of Ondo state, Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has sympathized with the residents of Ibadan after the recent tragic occurrence in the state. Recall that there was a recent explosion which claimed 2 lives and injured 77 people in Ibadan. This incident occurred in Bodija area of Ibadan, on Tuesday night, the 16th of January 2024. Many surrounding buildings in the area of the explosion were also destroyed as a result of the blast. The Ondo state governor condoled with the people of Ibadan yesterday,. Thursday, January 18 2024.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the current governor of Ondo state. He is a well-known businessman and politician. He recently started serving as the governor of Ondo state after the former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu passed away in 2023. He was first the deputy governor from 2021 before becoming the governor in 2023. He is 59 years old. He is serving under the umbrella of the All-progressives congress (APC). He is married to Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa and they have 3 children together.
His condolence for the victims of the Ibadan explosion came in a recently released statement by his chief press secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan. He expressed his sadness over the recent occurrence and then emphasised the need for a through and indept investigation into the tragic occurrence. He also called for the punishment of everyone involved in this incident, saying they must go scot-free. He also urged the Amotelun corps who are the security network agency in Ondo to provide support for the victims of the explosion. He also pledged his support to the government of Oyo state to assist them as they care for the victims of this occurrence.
