Ondo woman declared wanted after killing husband with a pestle
A woman has been declared wanted by the Ondo State Police Command after she murdered her husband using a pestle. This woman is now on the run as the police are searching for her to make an arrest. The command had revaled that they would soon make am arrest of the suspect.
This woman has been identified as Mrs Tayelolu Solomon. She is a middle aged woman and she allegedly killed her 67 year old husband, who has has been identified as Mr Felix Solomon.
She reportedly hit her husband on his head using a pestle. This incident happened on Saturday and this was in GRA area in Ondo state. Her husband had been asleep when she hit him on the head. It was revealed that the couple had gotten into an argument prior to this incident.
They had been having issues for sometime before this occured. The son of the deceased whose name is Ibukun Solomon also spoke about the incident. He had witnessed his kosher hitting his father with the weapon. He confirmed the incident that his mother had done this while his father was asleep. The woman then ran away thereafter.
In his statement, he said “My mother killed my father with a pestle in my presence and took to her heels. She used the pestle to hit his head when he was asleep. Earlier on the fateful day, a minor argument had ensued between them that resulted in a fight. After the fight, my father went to lie on the chair and my mother hit his head with the pestle. He became unconscious in the process and fell down from where he was sleeping. My mother used the pestle to hit my father’s head three times and he later died"
He shared that as soon as his mother say that the husband was unconscious, she hid the pestle behind their house and ran away while the son raised alarm and the neighbours came to their aid. It was then the man was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, he eventually died and they have deposited his corpse at the morgue.
This woman was a mother of 3 children and it was the last born, Ibukun who witnessed the crime. Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami who is the state Police Public Relation Officer of the command, has also confirmed the incident. She revaled that the Police are still searching for the woman and they will soon arrest her.
She stated “The incident happened last week when the couple had a fight but the suspect is currently at large. We are already on her trail”
