Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom emerges as Urhobo traditional rulers chairman

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom emerged as Urhobo traditional rulers chairman in Delta State.

The Association of Urhobo Traditional Rulers, is known as the Ukoko R‘ Ivie Urhobo. This Association held an election in Delta State just last Saturday.

The winner of this election was the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, who is Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso Abe 1. He is now the chairman of the Association.

The immediate former chairman who is late is Richard Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, and he was the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom.

He passed away earlier this year at 106 years old.

The election was held at the palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom. This is located at Orerokpe, in Okpe Local Government Area.

Some other executive members were also elected in this election which was held recently.

They will serve for a period of 4 years for their tenure

The newly elected chairman made a promise to work with both the state government in Delta and also the Federal governments to ensure peace in the Urhobo nation.
