Paris Saint Germain have finalized verbal agreement regarding personal terms with Bayern Munich's Lucas Hernandez, according to reports.
According to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, PSG hope to negotiate further with the Bavarians during the week.
Reports suggest that the club “will no longer stand in the way of his departure” as Bayern Munich are edging closer to sealing the deal to sign Kim Min-Jae from Napoli.
Bayern Munich are discussing with the Neapolitans in order to acquire the services of high-profile defender Kim Min-jae, having penned him down as the replacement for the departing Lucas Hernandez.
The Munich based club have previously blocked any potential move for the Frenchman away from the German capital.
It was expected that the Bavarians would be hesitant to let go of Hernandez, who just returned to the squad following an ACL injury which he sustained during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, French media outlet L'Equipe are now indicating that Bayern Munich are willing to let go of Lucas Hernandez.
With the deal to sign Kim Min-jae almost being finalized, they have eventually decided to let go of the France International.
Paris Saint Germain have been eyeing Lucas Hernandez as they see him as a valuable addition to their squad.
Bayern Munich will reportedly demand a fee of about £45 million for the 27-year-old.
The France International joined the Bavarian side from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a fee of about £68 million.
He penned a five-year-deal with the defending champions of the German Bundesliga, a deal which is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Lucas Hernandez made just seven appearances for Bayern Munich during the 2022/23 season but he has been an important member of the side.
The Frenchman has made 107 appearances in total for the German side, scoring 2 goals and providing 8 assists.
He was part of the triumphant Bayern Munich side who won the 2019/20 Champions League title.
Lucas Hernandez also won four German Bundesliga titles with the Munich based club.
The 27-year-old is a versatile defender and he can also function as a left-back when needed.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will certainly bring much to the Paris Saint Germain side, should he make the switch to the French capital.
PSG's Presnel Kimpembe also sustained an ACL injury last term and Sergio Ramos will be exiting the club at the end of June.
Due to these, the French side are looking to make needed additions that will bolster their defensive set-up and Lucas Hernandez is a priority target for the club.
As Per Fabrizio Romano, the former Atletico Madrid defender is “no longer untouchable with the new Bayern board as the situation is very clear: extend the contract or leave now”.
Paris Saint Germain have reportedly presented a five-year contract with a salary difficult to match by Bayern Munich.
