Paul Pogba subbed off in tears as he suffered another injury just 23 minutes into his first start in over a year as Juventus defeated Cremonese on Sunday, 14th of May.

The former Manchester United midfielder was included in Juventus's starting XI for the first time in 390 days as injuries have afflicted his season since he returned to the Italian powerhouse last summer.

After Pogba received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, he turned his back on a defender, got around inside, and released a curling long-range shot towards the keeper.

He pulled up another shot a second later before falling to the floor, holding his head in his hands.

The 30-year-old received treatment on the field before being taken off the field, pulling his shirt over his head and looking sad.

After Paul Pogba went down in the first half during the Juventus match on Sunday and needed medical attention before heading down the tunnel, he was replaced by Arkadiusz Milik.

Nicolo Fagioli put the home team ahead after 55 minutes, and then Gleison Bremer doubled their lead in the next few minutes. His injury was a setback for Juventus.

According to reports, Pogba suffered a quadriceps injury and the importance of the problems will be examined on Monday, 15th of May.

Sunday's match was Paul Pogba's 9th in which the French midfielder has played this season. He made his first appearance of the campaign on February 28, but he suffered another muscle injury weeks later and did not return to action until the middle of April.

Paul Pogba's time at Old Trafford was cut short after he suffered a muscular problem and left the pitch during Man United's 4-0 loss to Liverpool back in April 2022, the last time he was named in the starting lineup for a competitive game of football.

After re-signing with his former team, Pogba started for Juventus in a pre-season friendly against Guadalajara but was forced to leave the game due to an injury. He wouldn't return to action for another seven months.

The French World Cup hero's season has been derailed by soft tissue injuries and a chronic meniscus problem in his knee, which kept him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He has seen limited action this season, totaling just nine appearances across all competitions for Juventus.
